THE MAN AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART

14 But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.” 1Sam.13:14 (New Living translation)

• He saw through God’s eyes (1Sam.17, 26,45-47)
  
• He loved the Lord with all his heart. (Ps42:1-2, Ps18)
  
• He spoke in faith Ps23, (1Sam17:25,32,34, 45-47)
  
• He acted in faith (albeit) (1Sam17:49)
  
• He matched God-confidence with some self-confidence.(1Sam17:49)
  
• When he sinned, he knew how to repent or plead his case with God.(Ps51, 2Sam24:17)
  
• He was a man of prayer (Ps.16,18,1Sam30:8)
  
• When he prayed he waited for an answer- the Rhema word – what the Lord was saying at that particular time, not necessarily the Logos. (1Sam30:8)
  
• A man of the Word. (Ps1:1-3)
  
• Guards his relationship with God jealously and continues to build and cultivate that intimacy.(Ps27:3-4)
  
• He endeavoured to give God his best to God (2 Sam24:24)
  
• A man of praise and worship ( ( Ps.27:4, 2Sam.24:24 Ps,18, Ps42:1-2)
