THE IMMOVABLE
When you think of something that is immovable, the first thing that often comes to mind is a mountain. It is immovable because it is fixed in one location. It would take extreme force to move a mountain. Similarly, the immovable man is the one who is firmly fixed on God's Word and has absolute confidence in God's love for him. Nothing, regardless of the circumstances, can separate him from the love of God in his life. In addition, he has made God's Word his final authority. He knows God's love, receives it and walks in it. He is fixed, steady, unchangeable and unaffected by negative emotions or situations. He is convinced that the Word of God is true and that God loves him. He does not waiver.
Psalm 15:2–5 clearly describes this type of person. It says:
"He who walks and lives uprightly and blamelessly, who works rightness and justice and speaks and thinks the truth in his heart, He who does not slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his friend, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor; In whose eyes a vile person is despised, but he who honors those who fear the Lord (who revere and worship Him); who swears to his own hurt and does not change…He who does these things shall never be moved" (AMP).Living uprightly before God, honoring and respecting Him are characteristics of the man who is immovable.
Another key aspect of becoming immovable is knowing that there is nothing you can do to earn God's love. You are loved by Him and made righteous by the blood of Jesus and not because of your works. As a result, you become immovable when circumstances and situations present themselves.
Romans 8:38, 39 says, "For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (AMP). When you are confident in God's love for you, not even your own mistakes and shortcomings can cause you to turn your back on God.
Walking in the love of God is also a benchmark of being immovable. Because God is love, and you are made in His image, you have the ability to walk in love at all times. Despite what others may tell you, you don't have to be moved by your emotions when people come against you. By confidently displaying love toward God and others, you fulfill the commandment God gave to love your neighbors as you love yourself (Matthew 22:39). You can remain firmly fixed on the love of God which will protect you from the attacks of the enemy.
The immovable man is a person of faith; like Abraham, whose faith was counted to him as righteousness. When you live by faith, specifically faith in God's love for you, you know that what He has spoken will come to pass in your life. You won't doubt God's willingness and ability to bring His promises to pass in your life when you know He loves you and wants the best for you.
Galatians 5:6 says that faith works by love. Walking in the love of God fuels your faith and helps to strengthen you, making you immovable like a mountain against the storms of life. When you stand firm in His love, nothing will be able to come against you and succeed.
