Sight of Prayers

Sight of Prayers
I saw a wonderful sight just the other day
I saw it when Mother reminded our grandson to pray
With trucks and cars and transformers, in a line, just so
He was kneeling down beside his bed, along with GI Joe
I never heard the prayer, but I did hear Amen.
As I watched from the doorway; he quickly crawled in
Now that he was finished, I went in to say goodnight
He smiled and took hold of me; squeezing me so tight
I pulled up the covers and gently tucked him in
He whispered up at me, don’t forget my army men
Smiling back at him, I covered GI Joe
And I covered trucks and cars, and transformers in a row
He said I love you Paw; his words were so sweet
And I said I love you too, now let’s go to sleep
I wondered what he prayed as I closed the bedroom door
And I thought of him and GI Joe; kneeling on the floor

Children are so innocent and so cute. I use to kneel by my bed and my mother would one on one with all 8 of us children listen as we said our prayers. This brought back a lot of memories. Blessings.
