SLANDER

This is a great lesson and should be studied. We are servants of CHRIST, and as HIS servants we should act according to our MASTER'S WILL. Acting in a way that is considered slanderous, is not acting as a CHRISTIAN shoud act. We should gaurd our heart, and fill it with the LOVE of JESUS, and not habour hatred or evil as what is found in our hearts, becomes evident within our speach.

Where does slander come from? The scripture you have given is very appropriate:

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

So, slander comes from an evil heart. Futhermore, what is abundant in our heart, os also made know from our own mouths. What does Proverbs, say about our mouths?

Proverbs 4:24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

Proverbs 6:2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

Proverbs 6:12 A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.

Proverbs 8:7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Proverbs 10:6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

Proverbs 10:11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
