Prayer of Ja'-bez
Prayer of Ja’-bez
In the genealogy of Judah is mention of Ja’-bez, a man.
You’ll find it in 1 Chronicles chapter 4 verses nine and ten.
There is something important about this genealogical list.
When you are reading, you just might have missed.
In the middle of all the begotten, Ja’-bez says a prayer.
And then the genealogy continues on from there.
He says God bless me indeed and enlarge my coast.
Let your hand be with me to keep evil from grieving this host.
Of his brethren, God found him, more honorable than the rest.
And God granted to him that of which he request.
Two little verses placed into this text in such a way
That when you ponder, you’ll find the reason we pray.
Ja’-bez is not mentioned in the Bible any more.
But he found favor with God, when he prayed unto the Lord.
