Only You

Both believers and unbelievers; all feel Death’s tap

Not one is pardoned or exempt; all takes a dirt nap

When the sod is spread upon us; loved ones reenter their lives

The world keeps on turning; that’s the way it is, when we die

This truth is not meant, for argument or debate

Just the simple truth of death, the truth of our fate

And I’m not a Christian terrorist; preaching gloom and doom

But I do believe Jesus died; and He arose from the tomb

I only want to share the joy; I feel that Heaven holds

And I am trusting in the Lord, to save my sinful soul

As a witness of the gospel; I’m only called to share

Your life is best in God’s hands; best left in His care

For I am not a lawyer, the judge or the jury

I can only testify, of what God has done for me

And you can accept it or reject it; that is simply up to you

The outcome of your actions; don’t effect me, only you

I’m trusting God to save me; from all I’ve read and heard

And I’m being obedient to His will; by sharing His Holy Word

We can all agree on the truth, we are all going to die

But it’s strictly up to you; to accept Jesus or to deny

Thank you for a wonderful poem. In other religions and faiths, the followers are dependent on Good Deeds but no one can define what is a good deed. We are blessed as our salvation depends on the mercy and loving-kindness of our Savior and Heavenly Father.
