A Perfect Sacrifice
Upon the cross, He shed His blood; in accordance with the Lord
A sacrifice made so perfect; God remembers our sin no more
For year by year we spilled the blood; a remission to execute
But to the sacrifice of Jesus’ life; His blood was no substitute
A sacrifice of eternal redemption; not ages of temporal offerings
But a perfect sacrifice transcending time; is what our Savior brings
No more sprinkling of the animal blood, to purify minds so vile
But to fully cleanse our evil conscience; Christ’s sacrifice was endowed
Over and over we spilled the blood; in ceremonies meant to cleanse
But only through Christ’s sacrifice; could our reconciliation begin
An impossible mission, forgiveness of sin, through the sacrifice of goats and lambs
Yet all was made perfectly possible; by the only son of I AM
A perfect gift; the Sacrifice, which bore all man’s disgrace
Nailed on a cross between two thieves; God’s Amazing Grace
