Who Crucified Jesus? (2)
Who crucified Jesus?
Who put Him on the Cross?
Why was He lumbered with sinners?
Why was I among those that gathered?
Why did my sin rail abuse on Him?
Yes, my sin cried: Crucify Him! Crucify Him!
On that cross the best of God, the depth, the height, length and breadth of God’s love was displayed for the world to see. On that cross we also see the worst of mankind –the shame, blindness, wickedness, ruthlessness, callousness, indifference, cowardice. Through that Cross, Jesus removed our sins from us, as far as the East is from the West.
Yes, it was the determined purpose of God, occasioned by His love, despite our criminality
and high-treason beyond reason;
That was the only way to save you and me.
God so loved the world
That He gave His Son-
The Son of His love;
That whosoever believes
On Him should not die,
but have eternal life.
That life is in His Son-
The Lamb of God
That takes away the sin
of the world-yours and mine.
But you have to call on Him
To be saved, delivered from
Eternal damnation and hell.
Where do you stand today?
Come to the Cross today
Make your peace today
With the Prince of Peace
Make Him Your Saviour
Make Him your Lord.
For all have sinned
And come short
Of the glory of God.
The wages of sin is
Death but the gift
Of God is
Eternal life.
I crucified Jesus! We crucified Jesus! Our sins put Him on the cross. Our wrongs wronged Him. The sinless was made sin that the sinful, sin-sick, might be made whole. I vilified Him after He had healed me. We brutalized Him after He had pardoned us. We spat on Him in spite of His innocence. We railed abuse on Him in spite of His holiness. ‘Greater love than this hath no man that a man should lay down His life for His friends. ‘
He was the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for His sheep- not the hire man that runs away when the wolf or lion appears. He went through hell. He was crushed, bruised, battered and abused to reconcile you and me. We joined in His humiliation even without knowing our responsibility, complicity and guilt. But that was the only remedy for sin- the spilling of an innocent blood, like the lamb that was slaughtered in the beginning, whose skin covered the nakedness of Adam and Eve. The Last Adam- Jesus was also innocent yet his blood was spilled to take away the sin of the world. He paid the debt that He did not owe; a debt that we could not pay. He broke the middle wall of partition between God and man, bridged the gap, made an ATONEMENT between God and man. He made a New and Living way, paving it with His blood. He disarmed principalities and powers, who had us in chains and in prison of sin, misery and demise and death, darkness, hopelessness and despair and even eternal damnation in hell.
He paid a ransom of incalculable proportion, redeemed us from the curse of the Law, washed us clean with his blood, gave us a robe of righteousness, called us by a new name- children of God. Rebels became friends and heirs of God, regenerated, translated from the Kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of light. Our names were written in the Book of life. We became heavenites as Heaven became our home. Glory be to God.
‘Thank you for the cross, Lord.
Thank you for the price you paid.
Bearing all my guilt and shame
In love you came and gave amazing grace
Thank you for this love, Lord
Thank you for your nail-pierced hand.
Bearing all my sin and shame
Now all I know is your forgiveness and embrace.
Worthy is the Lamb
Seated on the throne
Crown you now with many crowns
You reign victorious
High and lifted up
Jesus, Son of God
The darling of heaven crucified
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb.ur Saviour

Re: Who Crucified Jesus? (2)
Thank you so much for this beautiful poem and it certainly looks like a cross and shows the purpose of the cross. Can I use it in Newsletter and send it to all the members as Easter Greetings? Waiting for your permission. However, without your permission I have got a huge print out with your name on it and have it placed in my home. I will try to put some graphic using this poem and again with your permission.
God bless you
God bless you
Re: Who Crucified Jesus? (2)
“Father, forgive them,
for they do not know
what they are doing.”
“Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in paradise.”
“Dear woman, Behold, your son!” “Behold, your mother!”
“I am thirsty.”
“It is finished.”
“Father, into
Thy hands
I commit
My spirit.”
Having said this,
Jesus breathed
His last, bowed
His head and
gave up His spirit.
for they do not know
what they are doing.”
