I was informed that this is the SECOND of THREE total eclipses that ALL occur on Av 1 for THREE CONSECUTIVE YEARS!

250 Rabbis Sign Letter to Obama: Hands off Jerusalem

This happened on the First of Av. The beginning of nine days of mourning for Israel. Also the date, in which most of Asia, witnessed the logest recorded Solar Eclipse
