Medication for Meditation- Sin
All have sinned
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Sin brings death
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Gen:2:17: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
God gives us power over sin
Ro:6:9: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Ro:6:14: For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
We cannot take sin for granted
Ro:6:1: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
1Co:3:16: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1Co:3:17: If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
1Co:6:19: What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
Flee from sin
Ge:39:12: And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.
Ge:39:13: And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth,
Ge:39:15: And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out.

1Tm:6:11: But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Partial obedience is sin

Sin deceives and damns
Jas:1:15: Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Repent of sin for forgiveness and restoration
Psalms:86:5: For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
Psalms:103:3: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Psalms:130:4: But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

We cannot blame God for our sin
Jas:1:13: Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Temptation is not sin, it’s when you yield
1Co:10:13: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Jas:1:2: My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
M'r:1:13: And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

There is a promise for those who overcome sin
Jas:1:12: Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Sin makes you sell your birthright
Heb:12:16: Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
Pray against sin
Lu:22:40: And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
Lu:22:46: And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

Ac:5:8: And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.
Ac:5:9: Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
Ac:5:10: Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
Ac:5:11: And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
We cannot blame God for our sin
Jas:1:13: Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Temptation is not sin, it’s when you yield
1Co:10:13: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Jas:1:2: My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
M'r:1:13: And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
Lu:4:2: Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
There is a promise for those who overcome sin
Jas:1:12: Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Sin makes you sell your birthright
Heb:12:16: Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
Pray against sin
Lu:22:40: And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
Lu:22:46: And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
