Paul Pursued Purpose
Paul pursued purpose
With passion and zeal.
Despite those who opposed
He knew he had a seal
No foe or demon could break.
He counted the cost
Even from the start;
And so he did not rust
As he followed with his heart,
He Who saved and called him.
Paul ran well his race
Until he was finished
God gave him great grace.
He was well furnished
Glorifying God all the way.
You too can finish well,
If you look to the Finisher
Drinking from Salvation’s well,
The Alpha and Omega,
Clinging to the Author.
Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,Acts26:19
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Rom.8:28
12 But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, Phil1:12
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.Phil3:11-14
24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.2Cor. 9:24-27
26 in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness— 28 besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.2Cor11:26-28
But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, 5 in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings; 6 by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love, 7 by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, 8 by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; 9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed; 10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.2Cor6:4-10
6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.2Tim4:6-8
