Rejection Brings Promotion

Rejection brings promotion
Joseph suffered disdain
Hatred and jealousy
His brothers conspired
To snuff out his dream
Put his light out
They sold him as a chattel
Made money out of him
But God preserved him
And brought him promotion.

Jesus came to His own
But they rejected Him
He abandoned His glory
Came down to man
But we turned our backs on him

He did no wrong
Yet we cried ’Crucify Him
Release Barabas to us.’
He loved us so much
As to die on the cross for us
He paid the price for us
Taking our sin on Himself
So God exalted Him
gave Him a Name
above all other names..
That’s Promotion!

David killed Goliath
Turned on the light of Israel
Made king Saul so joyful
But a song turned his heart
Made him mad at David
Hatred, jealousy, rejection
Followed and flowed
Against David till Saul died-
Falling on his own sword..
David was promoted..

Daniel distinguished himself
Had an excellent spirit
Would not compromise
This brought jealousy
Envy, hatred, conspiracy.
They plotted to ruin him
But God turned it around
And used it for promotion..

Stephen was fiery, fervent
And the people hated him
He told them the truth
But they covered their ears
And hauled stones at him
He prayed for them
And was promoted to heaven.

John Mark was rejected by Paul
But Barnabas gave him a second chance
He bounced back and became profitable
Going on to write the Book of Mark
Paul himself was rejected by the disciples
But Barnabas accepted and encouraged him
He went on to be the Church’s greatest asset
Outside of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.

Martin Luther King rebelled
Against the false teachings
Of his denomination.
He boldly posted his 99thesis
Sparking outrage, outcry.
He was hunted, vilified
Hated, excommunicated.
But this brought us
Reformation and hence
freedom from works
Today we thank God for him.
God is smiling at his courage
To stand up and be counted..

Be bold and strong
Rejection is part of the package
God the Father was rejected.
The God the Son was rejected.
God the Spirit was rejected.
YOU too will be rejected..
It’s part of the fellowship
(Sharing ) of His suffering.
When it happens, count it all joy.
The word is being made flesh.
Promotion is on the horizon..
Stand to see your salvation.
