Where Would We be Should we Be Called Today?

He was a Friend
Like Jonathan to me
A faithful friend
Who stood like a tree

A man of faith
Like Wigglesworth
Full of strength
Full of worth

A man of integrity
A man of his word
A man of purity
A man of the Word.

A man of Action
Motivated by love
Moved by compassion
Ruled from above

He was a friend
Who spoke his mind
To friend or fiend
What was God’s mind.

He was a man exemplary
Who stood like a giant
Comes near with empathy
And very adamant.

He was a friend
Closer than a brother
Who fought to the end
In good and bad weather.

He was a friend
A man of God
Who did not pretend
When sharing the Word.

Now absent in the body
He is in heaven
With Jesus - his buddy
In blissful haven.

He leaves a legacy
Of Stirling quality
Challenging you and me
To be beacons of the Almighty.

My friend has gone
To be with Jesus – His Lord and Savior
He rests in His bosom – a safe haven.
But the question remains
To you and me:
Where would we be
Should we called today?
