Filled All The Way

Today I watched the rain; heavy falling down

It was more than just a shower; soaking up the ground

It wasn’t a mist, or a sprinkle, or a spray

But a drenching, a saturation, a filling all the way

It sopped up the earth and became swollen like a stream

Then flowing like a river, it was swamping everything

And as I watched the rain falling; splashing on the ground

My mind drifted to the Holy Spirit; and how He came down

Poured out upon Jesus; like a deluge from above

Covering and immersing; the Father’s Son with His love

Not a mist, not a sprinkle, not even a spray

But a drenching, a saturation, a filling all the way

And I watched the rain falling; the dousing of this storm

What would it be like; if we were soaked in His arms

Not with the meager faith; held by me and you

But imagine the Holy Spirit; washing through and through

More than a drenching, a saturation, filled all the way

Lord, may Your rain; fall heavy, on us today
