Smoking- a smoking gun
Deceives, you think you’re having fun
Slowly kills, deals you with disease
Deadly, can cause cancer
Gives you crippling asthma
Leaves you smelling bad after
You wait, heart disease is coming
As you burn yourself and your money
You know it’s addictive like a drug
Yet your shoulder you shrug
You know it’s killing you
Yet you carry on burning to burn
even the finger that feeds you
you say you’re not hooked
But you will truly know
when you try to break free
you sweep the problem under the carpet
pretend it is not there,
But will it go away?
“ Nothing can happen to me ,”you boast
“It’s a free world, its my body”,
you excuse yourself
Meanwhile, to death you slowly coast
Oblivious of the cost
To you and your family
You ‘r e even killing others-
Innocent bystanders-
Neighbour, friends, children and grand children
Who passively smoke your smoke
But you don’t care
You‘re even enrol others
On this road to smell and death
The flesh is in control
You have sold your soul
All for a fag
That you think is a fad
When will you learn
That your body is God’s temple
And keep the fag away
And so keep the doctor away?
Please, stop! The smoke is getting into me!
Suffocating me!
I beg you, don’t rope me in
in your train of premature death
Set me free!
Let the air be free!
Yield to God
Let Him set you free
Let Jesus in
To give you new desires
New craving for His word
That would ward off the evil weed.
