Psalm 46:10
Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among
the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." In the Hebrew still is
raphah - to slacken, cease, faint, idle, stay, be still.
God wants us to draw near Him, to let go of all business and cease
our own things and to seek Him. I don't know about you, but every
time I try to be still, something always seems to demand my attention.
We must close oursleves in with Our Father. We must see Him for who He
is - I AM. He is all things.
When i realy grasp that, He is the beginning and the end. He is the Creator.
He is Life itself! When you are filled with that knowledge, there in nothing
else that can touch or compare with the Almighty. What an Awesome
God we have!
If everyone realized the power of being in the Presence of God, in the still ness of His Holiness: it would change your life forever. Jesus Christ died that
we may be reunited with the Father. And here is the great invitation;
"Be still and Know that I am God." There is a great midevel saint,
Brother Lawrence. He was a very simple man, but one day he had a great
experience. While looking at a tree God revealed Himself to him. He was
eventually accepted as a monk in the monastery. He practiced THE
PRESENCE OF GOD. As a matter of fact, there was a book written about
his life and his simple teachings. He became known later as a great saint
of the Church. All he did was Be Still and Know that I am God, in all his
daily tasks. It is a beautiful book. If any of you can get a copy, I highly
recommend it.
