Paul’s Prayer for Spiritual Growth part 2
Lessons from Pauls prayer 2 God has Glorious, Unlimited Resources.
14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
What a prayer for spiritual growth!

2. God has glorious, unlimited resources.
The earth in all its fullness, richness, splendour belong to Him. Silver and gold belong to Him. The cattle on the thousand hills belong to Him. David prayed:
10 Then David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly:
“O Lord, the God of our ancestor Israel,[a] may you be praised forever and ever! 11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. 12 Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.
13 “O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name
1Chro.2910-13
David understood the limitlessness of the riches of is God. Do you and I have the same understanding.? When we do we will behave differently regardless of our circumstances. It was Paul also who wrote that 'we are blessed with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places.' Because we belong to Christ. Epn1:3
We need not only to have this understanding but begin to appropriate the blessings (make it ours, draw on them) and use them to bless others.
God wants to empower us with His strength through His Spirit
Power belongs to God. Paul also wrote : 'be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power'.. The Holy Spirit was sent to empower us, energise us to do good works like Jesus did:
38 And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. Acts 10:38
God wants to empower us for witnessing:
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
