The Suffering Saviour

The Suffering Saviour
The suffering Saviour
Went to the deepest of depths
Climbed the highest of mountains
Emptied Himself to the dregs
He was wasted, wounded, Why?
That you and I might be saved
Bought back from the Slave market
Brought back from the land of the dead
He was beaten and battered. Why?
That those who sat in darkness
Might see His glorious light
Hear the sound of His music
Have their chains of sin shattered
And the prison doors opened
Ushered into a new release,
An unprecedented freedom.
Why not take the sceptre of deliverance?
Why do you want to trade your life for mess?
Why remain in the cesspit of sin and death?
Today is the day of salvation
This is the acceptable time
Take your finger off your ears
Arise from the squalor
Take the step of faith
Step into life
Rise from the dead!
"My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels."-Psalm 22:14
