Perseverance means endurance
Regardless of the encumbrance.
You remain standing, come what may,
Looking at Jesus Christ- the Way.

It does not only mean starting
But continuing to finishing
The Race of Grace set before us,
That race that began from the Cross.

Satan will certainly tempt you
To abandon the road for the few
And career into the broad road,
Where you carry your cares as load.

Your flesh will trip you, ensnare you
To think only of benefits to you
Keep you from dying to yourself
Keep you from denying yourself.

You must always be on your guard
Using the Spirit’s Sword- the Word
On the Holy Spirit leaning
On the grace of God depending.

Continue in the faith."-Acts 14:22

This poem reminds me of the film the Wizard of Oz from the 1930's in Hollywood. The witch when she had water thrown on her by mistake kept saying, "I'm melting, melting.... " and she died.
To me that is a great vision of destroying the evil in our life, being washed with the water of the word. The flesh melts away and finally dies. Loved this! EXALT.
