Cutting remarks
Leave marks of wound
That make you smart and start
Leave you unsound.

Triggered by Arsonist Anger
They’re like bone in your throat
Come to choke and kill
They’re replayed to imprison.

Fuelled by Irate Irritation,
They pierce like razor blades
Drawing blood out of your soul;
Your mood they control.

Fired by Ignorant Impatience,
They rumble on and on,
Making you weak and sick;
You want to vomit.

Assuaged by Friend Frustration,
They set relationships ablaze,
Cutting family ties,
Poison like the venom of an adder.

Garnered by Sister Stress
They cause a lot of distress
And make you bitter;
Cause you to cry.

Enhanced by Brother Guilt,
They bury you alive,
Dismembering you piece by piece.
They have no mercy.

Shot by Guilt
They seek to justify
Their lust for blood
And taste for tears.

Reared by Insecurity
They bore holes
in your confidence
And self-esteem

So let’s cut out
The cutting remarks,
And for good stand out,
Making remarks that heal.
