Cause me to hear Your
lovingkindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way
in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.
Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies;
In You I take shelter.
Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Your Spirit is good.
Lead me in the land of uprightness.

and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5,6 NIV

You who believe in God's Son will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you have eternal life, the reality and not the illusion.
And how bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he's listening. And if we're confident that he's listening, we know that what we've asked for is as good as ours.
