Imbalance
The scale is tipped between heart and mind
This progression, I stumbled over
In my relationship with my Lord and Savior
God does not draw closer
I’ve worked so hard on my relationships
With spouse, family and friends
But I’ve left the one between me and God
That spectrum to the end
I’ve given Him my mind to hold
But I’ve withheld my heart
God can draw no closer to me
I’ve regulated the important part
I pray to Him and bring requests
Like reading from a script
But I should bring the prayers of love
To balance my relationship
I submit my imbalance
As a measure to right your scale
As a weight upon your heart
Where in prayer, I have failed
