Seek No Help from Egypt
Seek no help from Egypt
Shun the legs of a man
Say, ‘No!’ to strength of horse.
Salvation is of God.
So when you see the bait
Dangling like a carrot,
Appealing to the eyes,
Fall not into the pit.
Know, temptation will come
Repeatedly to you;
Seeking to imprison
With the loan, just to own.
Dig your heels; trust the Lord
To make a way for you.
Refuse any short cut
You know will cut you short.
Look only to Jesus
Author and Finisher
Who has the solution
To all of your problems.
In Him is the answer
To all of your questions.
Without Him you're nothing
And with Him you're something.
He will make a difference
When we simply trust Him
Despite our experience
Because we live in Him.

1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"
2 And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;
3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.' "
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die.
5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.Gen3:1-7
10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the LORD.
11 Then they said to Moses, "Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt?
12 Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, 'Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians'? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness."
13 And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.Ex14:10-13
Psalms 147
10 He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.
Psalms 118
8 It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in princes.
Proverbs 3
26 For the LORD will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.
Proverbs 14
26 In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge.
Isaiah 30
15 For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: " In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength." But you would not,
Philippians 3
3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,
Hebrews 10
35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.
8 Their land is also full of idols; They worship the work of their own hands, That which their own fingers have made.Isa2:8
Isaiah 30
1 "Woe to the rebellious children," says the LORD, "Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, That they may add sin to sin;
2 Who walk to go down to Egypt, And have not asked My advice, To strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, And to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
3 Therefore the strength of Pharaoh Shall be your shame, And trust in the shadow of Egypt Shall be your humiliation.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.Prov.3:5-7
Exodus 16:21
They gathered manna every morning.
"Labour to maintain a sense of thine entire dependence upon the Lord's good will and pleasure for the continuance of thy richest enjoyments. Never try to live on the old manna, nor seek to find help in Egypt. All must come from Jesus, or thou art undone for ever."
C.H. Spurgeon
