Victory Parade Has a Message
The Victory Parade through the streets of London featuring 21floats and about 700 athletes and about1million estimated cheering admirers celebrated the spectacular, phenomenon and unprecedented success and triumph of Team BG and the Paraolympians during the London 2012 Olympics and paraolympics. It was the best Olympics and Paraolympics in a century with TeamGB ending in the third place on the medals table, winning 65 medals-29 golds, 17 silvers and 19 bronzes. The paraolympics also ended with Britain finishing 3rd with 120 medals, exceeding a pre-games target of 103 medals.
The Prime Minister, David Cameron, said the achievement will be remembered like the victory won during the 1966 world cup.
Like the victory parade Jesus also having trounced His enemies paraded the captives freed in a procession demonstrating His complete, comprehensive and unequivocal victory and then sat down at the right hand of the Father.
Regardless of what you face stand to sdee the salvation of the Lord.
15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.Col2:15
Paul also writes: 14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
2Cor2:14
( Message: 2 Corinthians 2:14
New International Version (NIV)
14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.)
The victory Jesus won, He won for us, the redeemed, ransomed, blood-bought and blood-kept. This should be our confidence regardless of what the enemy tries to do to us. We are more than conquerors through Christ. We have won the Victory.
As you look at those scenes on the streets of London, let them be a reminder of what Christ did for you and let that be a fillip, a fuel, and tonic to power you to press on from glory to glory sand from strength to strength. Victory is yours and the battle is the Lord’s.
So let us walk in the victory Jesus won for us.
33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
John16:33
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.1John4:4
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world --- our faith.1John5:4
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
In the Roman Empire we had similar triumphant processions that reinforced power, pomp and victory.
“unspoken in the story of Palm Sunday is that other parade of six
hundred Roman soldiers entering the city with all the pomp and ceremony
that the most powerful army in the world could muster. We can imagine
what a spectacle it offered: the flags with the golden eagle, the sound of
drums beating the time of the march, the whinny of war horses, the
creaking of leather, the clinking of armor, the glint of spears held high. It
must have been an awesome display of power....
Borg and Crossan remind us that it was also an awesome display of
Roman imperial theology. According to their imperial theology, the
emperor was not only the ruler of the Roman Empire; he was the son of
God. The emperor bore the titles “Lord” and “Savior,” and was known as
the one who brought peace on earth.”

“"Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:57-58
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20
“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life." 2 Corinthians 2:14-16
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
"Lord, it is nothing [not too hard] for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You.” 2 Chronicles 14:11
“Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all.
Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all." 1 Chronicles 29:10-12
“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
"For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:4-11
“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves... [W]hen they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you." Matthew 10:16, 19-20
“If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ... Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:31-39
"Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." Hebrews 2:14-15
“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" 1 John 5:3-5
“Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: 'Death is swallowed up in victory.”
"'O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?'
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:51
“I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, 'Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." Revelation 12:10-11
"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
"Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.' And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful. And He said to me, 'It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son." Revelation 21:4
