32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
31 There were many times they wanted to kill Jesus, this is not the first time they had tried this. The stoning would have been done because He said “He and the Father are one.” If someone said they were God then they are clearly crazy but Jesus did works to show He and the Father are one. If someone did commit blaspheming they would have death by stoning which is why they were picking up stones to throw them at Jesus.
32 Jesus here defends Himself, later before His trial He does not. Jesus had done many great things in the name of the Father. Jesus never did anything in His name but did it to proclaim the name of the Father and by this His name would be proclaimed. We today are to do works in the Father’s name as well and follow His will not ours.
