RAINBOW

The rainbow represents the promises of God and was a sign of the covenant that God would never again flood the earth with water: "I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth... .. the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh." Gen 9:13,15

The rainbow signifies the glory, majesty and honour of the Lord Jesus Christ "One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald." Rev 4:2-3

AMBER

"From the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the colour of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around." Ezekiel 1:17 (See also Ezekiel 1:4; 1:27-28; 8:2)

BLACK

Disease (Job 30:30)
The middle of the night (Prov 7:9)
Mourning and sorrow (Jer 8:21)
The dying and dead (Lam 4:8) Death (Jude 1:12-13)
The sky turning black (Jer 4:28)
The darkening of the sun and moon (Joel l2:10)
Black Horses (Zech 6:2; Rev 6:5)
The stone Marble (Esther 1:6)

BLUE

"Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine woven linen and blue, purple, and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim you shall weave them." Exod 26:1

"And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone" Ezek 1:26

SCARLET / CRIMSON

"Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine woven linen and blue, purple, and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim you shall weave them." Exod 26:1

"..he made the veil of blue, purple, crimson, and fine linen, and wove cherubim into it." 2 Chron 3:14

"Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow ; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool." Isa 1:18

GOLD / YELLOW

"Though you lie down among the sheepfolds, You will be like the wings of a dove covered with silver, And her feathers with yellow gold." Psa 68:13

"..they shall make an ark of acacia wood; ...you shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and out you shall overlay it, and shall make on it a molding of gold all around." Exod 25:10-11

GREY

"But he said, "My son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is left alone. If any calamity should befall him along the way in which you go, then you would bring down my gray hair with sorrow to the grave." Gen 42:38

"You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man, and fear your God: I am the LORD." Leviticus 19:32

GREEN

"..to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food" Gen 1:30

PURPLE

"Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine woven linen and blue, purple, and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim you shall weave them." Exod 26:1

RED
"And Esau said to Jacob, "Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary." Therefore his name was called Edom." Genesis 25:30

"For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, And the wine is red; It is fully mixed, and He pours it out; Surely its dregs shall all the wicked of the earth Drain and drink down." Psalm 75:8

Thank you for such an informative article. Indeed colors make us see the Majesty and Glory of Almighty God in Heavens, on earth and deep inside the earth. Rainbow, indeed shows the glory, majesty and power of Jesus Christ. How wonderful it looks and how awesome is glory of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.
