IDOLS
The Sanctuary of God contained idolatrous images that God commanded to be included in the Tabernacle! This preliminary statement may surprise some people who study and love the biblical revelation because of its widespread condemnation of idolatry and its outward teaching of God’s adamant strictures against depicting Him in any physical fashion (that is, by making idols, images, statues, pictures, icons, etc.). So stringent is the biblical theme of avoiding idolatry (or, idolatrous ways) that the Israelites were ordered even in the Ten Commandments NOT to make similitudes of ANYTHING in the heavens, of ANYTHING in the earth or of ANYTHING under the earth (that is, of ANYTHING within the seas and oceans) and they were ordered NOT to devote those images to any religious activity in any ritualistic manner.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
Leviticus 19:4 Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am Jehovah your God.
Leviticus 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols, neither shall ye rear you up a graven image, or a pillar, neither shall ye place any figured stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am Jehovah your God.
Deuteronomy 29:17 You saw among them their detestable images and idols of wood and stone, of silver and gold.
2 Kings 17:12 They worshiped idols, though the LORD had said, "You shall not do this."
Psalms 97:7 All who worship images are put to shame, those who boast in idols-- worship him, all you gods!
Jeremiah 10:8 They are all senseless and foolish; they are taught by worthless wooden idols.
Ezekiel 6:4 Your altars will be demolished and your incense altars will be smashed; and I will slay your people in front of your idols.
Ezekiel 6:13 And they will know that I am the LORD, when their people lie slain among their idols around their altars, on every high hill and on all the mountaintops, under every spreading tree and every leafy oak--places where they offered fragrant incense to all their idols
Ezekiel 14:4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Every man of the house of Israel that taketh his idols into his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I Jehovah will answer him therein according to the multitude of his idols;
Ezekiel 14:6 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Return ye, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
Ezekiel 20:7 and I said unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am Jehovah your God.
Habakkuk 2:18 "Of what value is an idol, since a man has carved it? Or an image that teaches lies? For he who makes it trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak.
Galatians 5:20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
Ephesians 5:5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

Re: Idols
Pastor you are absolutely wrong.
The image/idol that is worshiped in place of God is forbidden. No image in the Temple was worshiped so they do not come under Idols. Remember the Golden Calf Idol - It was used to replace God Almighty. No one worshiped images or Idols in the Temple. In the Temple people worshiped God Almighty.Leviticus 19:4 Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am Jehovah your God.
Re: Idols
I agree as I have never read any idols in the Temple or Tabernacle. From where did you find it out. Please give reference for your claim.

Re: Idols
Ark of the Covenant
The only object in the Holy of Holies, the sacred ark contained the two tablets with the Ten Commandments, the rod of Aaron that blossomed and the pot of manna. The ark was covered by the "mercy seat" on which the high priest sprinkled the blood of the goat seven times on the Day of Atonement. The ark represented the footstool of God's throne.
If you are talking about the images of angels on the Ark of Covenant, then it is clear that no one worshiped angels.

Re: Idols
Your opening remarks are contradicting to the verse you have quoted. If God commanded no Idol to be worshiped in His place then how can He command Idols in His Temple. Think over it.Pastor wrote:The Sanctuary of God contained idolatrous images that God commanded to be included in the Tabernacle!
