Good Christian poetry?
I have a speech tournament coming up, and I was struck by the idea that I
should use Christian poetry. I found one fantastic poem called "Teach
Me To Pray," which is about a new-comer to Christianity asking God how
to pray. I like this poem because it highlights that God just wants you
to pray, and he doesn't care how or when.
I am having a hard time finding other similar poems. Other poems that
I've been finding are awful accusatory. I am inspired to use Christian
poetry because this is a time that we truly need God. Accusations are
not a way to gain brothers and sisters in Christ.
Does anyone know of any good poems that I should use? I'd really
appreciate your help.

This was published in Christian Periodical:
Judas Wept (by Kevin M. Sorbello)
Betrayal is a filthy knife
That cuts the trustful bone
And sends to hell the wielder’s soul
To grieve and burn and groan
Thirty silver, a paltry price
To kill the king of kings
Enough to buy a bit of rope
The hangman knots and swings
Judas heard about the trial
And quaked at what he’d done
And cursed the day that he was born
For he’d betrayed “The One”
Sanhedrin heads turned to the side
Shook once and then went home
A basin filled to wash two hands
Removed the blood from Rome
Judas wailed and beat the ground
But what was done was done
And doomed to die was Christ the man
Proclaimed as God’s own son
Remorse destroys the will to live
Regret turns black the cloud
A coin that’s dropped will not return
Redemption wears a shroud
When Jesus died
Pilot slept
Mary mourned
And Judas wept
...and being the poet, you have my permission to use this poem for
non-commercial purposes if you so choose.
