http://www.shadowpoetry.com/resources/wip/types.htmlhttp://inspiration4generations.wordpress.com/2011/10/29/types-of-poetry/
For those who want to learn or improve their poetry writing skills, these are just a few types I have written, following the definitions on shadowpoetry.com. I would just be giving the examples of my poems for the lessons, based on the word of God. These poems will be mainly purpose-driven, prophetic, inspirational, didactic (teaching) etc as the case may be. For definitions, I would counsel you to go the link given . Contributions are very welcome from readers or students

Lesson 25 Creative Poetry
In this section I will encourage you to be creative in your poetry writing. You have seen different types of poems created by others, giving us specific guidance to be able to repeat the type.
Your guidance has to be concise, clear, understandable, and applicable.
MEANDER-Word of God
Meander is a new type of poem, like a quadruple etheree but with a different twist, It is based on a theme or related themes. Numbers on the lines indicate the number of syllables on the line.
This can be extended into an epic when you have a very long meandering Meander like Mississippi, in which case you can change the name to Mississippi.

Lesson 26 Thematic Poems
Ideally every poem should have a theme which lends it its focus. However there are some poems that can apply to more than one theme.
In this section, I will look at some themes on poetry and create links for you to access them on the basis of your interest.
They will include:
Purpose (Dream, Assignment, Calling)
