You Are My Choice

Protect me, LORD God!
I run to you for safety,
and I have said,
“Only you are my LORD!
Every good thing I have
is a gift from you.”

Your people are wonderful,
and they make me happy,
but worshipers of other gods
will have much sorrow.
I refuse to offer sacrifices
of blood to those gods
or worship in their name.

You, LORD, are all I want!
You are my choice,
and you keep me safe.
You make my life pleasant,
and my future is bright.

I praise you, LORD,
for being my guide.
even in the darkest night,
your teachings fill my mind.
I will always look to you,
as you stand beside me
and protect me from fear.
With all my heart,
I will celebrate
and I can safely rest.

This is a great prayer and I wondered what translation it was. I found it at

Gateway ( Contempoary English Version) I am not used to this version but I will take a closer look from now on.

This is NIV, because I normally take references from NIV. It is easier to explain verses of the Bible to others. KJV is little difficult as it is in Old English.

Good morning to u in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

I was really down this morning as i walked into the office, but when i read through ur prayer for protection, i feel real good and wonderful and i thank God for His love n protection so far for us all.

I just want to share a topic with u 2day because am so Happy dat am alive today and because of God loves for me.

OUR SALVATION DOES NOT DEPEND ON OUR GOOD WORK BUT ON JESUS CHRIST.

I want us to know dat no matter how far we fall short of God glory, we should remember dat our salvation does not depends on our good works. Our salvation depends only on Chirst and what He did for us through His death and resurrection. The bible says in (Ephesiahs 2:8-9) "For it is by Grace dat we have been saved, through faith and not by work.

The other truth is dat God has a reason 4 keeping us here. Life is short and if u are ever going to live for Christ, it should be now."As long as it is day we must do the work of Him who sent us. Night is coming, when no one can work (John 9:4).

Through the salvation dat our Lord Jesus Christ has gained through His death and resurrection, i pray God our Creator to open our eyes to see good things n our heart to do the right thing at the right time always.

God bless us all and keep us faithful to His teaching.

Dear Theresa:

He said to the woman, "Did God really say,..." (Genesis 3:1)

The point here is that, when we are surrounded by problems, we ask "Will God help me?" or we sometimes even doubt of God's existence. This is an old tool of deception of Satan.

Bible also guides us what to do in these times of troubles. The Bible says,

"Be joyfull always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16)

I call Hard Times as Learning Times. We always learn new things in these challenging times and we should always reflect "why am I going through hard times - where did I go wrong?".

As Bible teaches us that we must be joyfull in all circumstances, it means we must always have a positive attitude and trust in God.

Dear Daniel,

Thank u very much for ur message of last night which i received this morning at 9.44a.m.

Last night i ask God dat same question " WHERE DID I GO WRONGS" It is not easy for u plan n at the end of the day all u get is disappointment from the people whom u felt they really loved n care about u.

Right now, i want to really seek for His forgiveness, His mercy, His wisdom and His grace. Because without all these i cannot do anything to please God.

I thank God for His mercies and protection over us n i will never stop praying even after my request has been answer.

I also thank u for ur prayers and I pray God Blessing, Protection, Love and His Mercy on us all forever and ever - Amen.

Dear Theresa:

I would request you to take help from Great Scriptures on Prayer. Personalise them and use them in your prayers.

Example

Heavenly Father I have made you my dwelling place and my refuge in Jesus name. Let no harm come near our tent, command Your angels concerning us to guard us in all our ways, tell them to lift me (my family and me) up in their hands so that we may not strike my (our) foot against a stone in Jesus name. Father you love us, be with us in times of trouble honor us and deliver us in Jesus name.

Just personalise their scriptures from the Bible as they are the words of Holy Spirit and see the difference in your spiritual growth and your life.

God bless you abundantly so that you may become a blessing for others.

Dear Theresa:

I posted these scriptures that talk of promises of God. I use them everyday. I am posting the links here for you.

First of all you must understand that there is a way to pray - the right way and Jesus also taught us the same thing in the Lord's Prayer.

You pray to Heavenly Father in Jesus name. First you confess who Heavenly Father is and praise Him for being that.

Example

Heavenly Father I confess and believe that you are the Creator of Heavens and Earth and whatever there is in Heavens and on Earth in Jesus name.

You can take help from Psalms on how to praise Heavenly Father.

Second is to pray about the love of Heavenly Father. I use these words:

I love you Father as You loved me first and gave Your only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life - Father I happily believe in Your Holy Son Jesus Christ as my only LORD and Savior and confess that salvation is through Him only.

I confess that Jesus came on earth for my sins, suffered for me, was crucified for me on the cross, shed His blood on the cross, died on the cross for my sins. He was buried and You raised Him up from the dead on the third day and He now sits at Your right hand, from where He comes to judge us in Jesus name.

Father I thank you for Your most precious gift of Jesus Christ and Your great compassion that You have shown us

Then you pray about forgiveness of your sins.

Then you pray for any spiritual gifts you want from God and then in the end for worldly things.

This is the simple way to pray and if you want to use scriptures then personalize them.

Always remember the biggest miracle is the miracle of salvation - why I say so? I haven't done anything good in my life to deserve salvation. This is the great compassion, mercy, kindness and love Heavenly Father has shown towards us through our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. And we should always thank God for that.
