Death is a Door

Death is a Door to God’s presence
for those who’ve made their peace
through the Prince of Peace
they need not fear the sting of death.
death is a door to doom and damnation
for those lukewarm and dancing with the devil
religion and forms of godliness without salvation
they need to be very afraid of the cold hands of death.

today, if you hear His voice
make the right choice
get right or get left
stop looking right and left
be a sheep and not a goat
enter the Salvation Boat
Jesus paid the full price
made a perfect sacrifice
for you to live and not die
that is the reason why
I make this solemn appeal
don’t let the devil steal
What Christ has bought for you
Take this free gift offered you.

We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. (2 Cor 5:8)

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, (Phil 3:20)

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words. (1Thess 4:14-18)

To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." (Rev 3:14-22)
