John 8:42-47

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded and came forth from God; I came not of my own accord, but he sent me. 43 Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 But, because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. 46 Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? 47 He who is of God hears the words of God; the reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

42 If we follow God we should follow the scriptures and follow Jesus. To have God as our Father is to accept Jesus as our Lord because without Him covering our sins they keep us from being sons to the Father. As believers we are not to seek our own will but, follow after His will for us.

43 We are not able to understand the truth until He reviles it to us. To accept to be servant is something that we can not accept until we truly understand what He did for us.

44 If we are not serving Jesus than we are serving the devil and we are growing in his characteristics such as lying cheating thief and murder and these desires will over take those without Christ.

45 Jesus is the truth as is the word to deny this is to deny the truth and when this is done a lie is accepted in its place.

46 Jesus was not guilty of any sin yet He came to be punished for our sins so we do not have to be punished for them. He came to spare us from the judgment. These men hated Jesus for not keeping up their own man made laws that went against the Lord’s will. Jesus chose to serve the Lord over serving these men and their rules. Likewise we should serve the Lord before anything or one else.

47 The believers are the only one who God has a plan for. The lost God’s plan is simple and it is first come to me. The believers understand the things of importance that the unbelievers reject.
